This module introduces students to the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) within the legal field. It enables an understanding of how the Internet operates, as well as the management and protection of personal data, anonymisation and cybersecurity in digital communications. In addition, students learn how to conduct efficient legal research, use legal databases and office software tools, and interact securely with electronic public administration services. The aim is to equip students with the skills required to operate confidently in a digital legal environment characterised by ongoing technological transformation.

This module examines the foundations of Private Law and the legal relationships arising in everyday life, focusing on the individual as the holder of rights and obligations. It analyses the sources of law, the effectiveness of legal rules, the role of time in Civil Law and the regulation of legal personality —from birth to extinction— as well as legal capacity, personality rights and legal persons. This module represents the academic culmination of the Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in Law and provides students with the opportunity to integrate, apply and demonstrate the knowledge acquired throughout the programme. Under the supervision of an academic tutor, each student individually develops a research project, dissertation or legal study, which may adopt either a research-oriented or a practice-based professional approach. The project must evidence the student’s ability to analyse, interpret and construct legal arguments, as well as a commitment to academic integrity and sustainability through the integration of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The public defence before an academic panel assesses the clarity of presentation, technical rigour and originality of the work, consolidating the competencies required for professional legal practice and legal research.
